We hunted for a long time, we compared for a long time, we pondered for a long time. It was quite a dilemma.
Simply, we needed a motorbike. The original idea, that we'll buy some kind of chopper, got forgotten very soon. It's not such fun, it's just for old people :) (just joking, don't kill me :)) The criteria were quite clear - road travel bike, four-cylinder, 70 kW at least, comfy for long trips and tall enough (I'm no shorty and have long legs). So we studied, consulted with bikers and in the end the decision was made - it will be Honda VFR
750. And because we were very tight on budget, something older. And we were lucky - we found in Maramoto grandma from 1990, RC24, but in excellent condition, very well treated, only 16 tsd. km on the clock (officially documented), imported from Germany. So one snowy February afternoon we grabbed expert, hopped into Tranzit and went to see her. Everything was just fine and so we took her home right away. Followed the classic change of oil, water, brake fluids and spark plugs, cosmetic repairs and everything was ready for the season. Today, when I write these lines, is end of March. We've traveled some 700 km with her and it's total satisfaction so far. Bobina is perfectly comfortable and runs like Swiss watches. To some 7500 rpm it is obedient and comfy travel bike, in 7500 it turns into sporty beast. Beautiful combination. Now we have to solve only case holder and cases and after season we'll probably do fairing repairs and new paint. I hope that the satisfaction will last.
