The spring is finally here, warm - temperature rises above ten degrees and the weather pulls us out, although the clouds spoil it a little. But in spite of it we set out.
With freshly washed and polished bike, sadly without Tomáš, who had to go to work, we set out for Lány. The first place we visited in Lány was, of course, Museum of Racing Cars, where we agreed that the most beautiful are the old veterans and De Lorean from Back to the Future is awful.
Then we wanted to visit the castle garden, but tough luck - the gate was closed. Next place we visited was the tomb of president Masaryk and his family.
Next thing on the schedule was to go to Křivoklát to pick up Vlasta Slaninka, who wanted to show us one place he loved. The way was nice, we rode through forests round Křivoklát with beautiful rocks, which would make great photos. After some 25 km we arrived to Zbiroh to castle hotel into which come mostly (as Vlasta claimed) politicians with their mistresses. After seeing the castle surroundings we got an idea that we could also visit the Žebrák castle. Signs said it should be somewhere near. But as always - we got lost and made the way some 18 km longer :-) Finally we arrived to the castle Žebrák. With our laziness we wanted to drive straight to the castle on our bikes, but the road was so awful that we gave up. Some other time :-)
We ran out of gas, needed to find some gas station. The nearest is in Žebrák town, we'll buy some gas and snack and will go home. We found the gas station, but it was a big surprise for us. Aleš put the pistol into the tank and nothing. No gas. Then we found out that we were supposed to pay in advance here. Such a nonsense, we didn't see something like that before. You can take gas only if you pay some sum in advance or else there's no gas. I also wasn't very lucky - can't buy food with credit card. So if you're hungry and don't have some cash, you're lost too. And the final thing - WC out of order, so there's a pretty mine field behind the gas station. Simply if you're in for some adventure, we recommend gas station Mája in Žebrák!!! :-) |
